Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

In light of the situation surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have been closely monitoring guidance from both the UK Government and World Health Organisation and making adaptations accordingly.  We are fully compliant with all regulations concerning Department of Health and Social Care guidance in this respect.

Our number one priority is the safety of our patients, employees and their families. We want to ensure minimal disruption for our patients, whilst also complying with national guidance to prevent any re-escalation of the virus, including measures of social distancing, infection control and patient safety.

What is The Chartwell Hospital doing?

According to current COVID-19 information and advice, Chartwell Hospitals and Diagnostics Ltd are taking the following measures to protect all those visiting our hospital:

  • Screening all patients at the point of booking, in-line with Government guidelines.
  • Screening all patients, staff and visitors upon arrival into our hospital.
  • Limiting the number of visitors and providing access to alcohol-based hand sanitiser upon entry and exit.
  • Social Distancing Measures introduced in our hospital with clear signposting and surveillance of adherence to these measures.
  • Increasing the frequency of our cleaning schedule around our hospitals and clinics.
  • Reminding all visitors of the importance of personal hygiene and best practices, such as regular hand-washing, which are displayed on posters / electronic boards throughout our hospitals and clinics.

What can I do to help?

By working together, we can eliminate re-escalation of the virus within our hospitals and clinics.

We are encouraging patients to:

  • Kindly not come into the hospital if you have any cold or flu-like symptoms such as a dry cough, flu-like symptoms, high temperature and loss of taste or smell.
  • Keep your hands clean, by washing regularly and thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or by using a hand sanitizer.
  • Please try and avoid bringing along visitors/family members to your appointment, unless necessary, in order to reduce the volume of visitors entering the clinic.
  • Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch all coughs and sneezes, bin the tissue and then wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer to eliminate germs.

Visiting The Chartwell Hospital

The Chartwell Hospital is remaining open as normal, so please attend your appointment as you would – taking into consideration the above measures / Government guidelines.  At a time when NHS hospitals are still experiencing long delays in providing routine treatments, we would like to be able to offer a safety net for patients who are worried about health conditions other than Coronavirus.

We’re reassuring all patients that the correct protocols are in place and that the health and safety of visitors is our main priority. We understand there is continued concern about COVID-19 and we’re monitoring the situation closely on a daily basis.

We ask anyone who is concerned that they have been in close contact with someone who has coronavirus, to follow the Government advice and self-isolate immediately.
